Description
"Once Upon a Parable..." was written for youth and young adult leaders for in-class and out, to provide stories, activities, and content related to personal religious formation, the Bible and sexuality, making moral decisions, journal writing and using one's intuition, fear, food, winning, abundant life, the influence of people and stories, friendship, the use of money, "Who am I?," and feelings, such as envy, sadness, loneliness, honesty, suffering, and struggling with God. Leaders may wish to ask for participant volunteers to lead the program or class study, assigning each of the sessions, or as a resource for private devotional time. The activities are written "as if" young adults were reading the material. The language may be adapted in any way to introduce the activities. "Once Upon a Parable..." was written out of a love and passion for stories that matter. Certain stories inform, others inspire, and still others invite the imagination to sing and dance.
